5. Solar panels for people in need
Initiative by Jeju City, Korea East-West Power, Korea Energy Foundation

Officials have announced a plan to install solar panels on the homes of some of the island’s poorest residents.

Representatives from Jeju City, Korea East-West Power, and the Korea Energy Foundation signed an agreement to that effect Thursday at Jeju City Hall.

According to the agreement, Jeju City will identify facilities and people in need of welfare support. The other two groups will then pay for the solar panels, their installation, and any other related expenses.

경제적으로 어려운 가정에 태양광 발전 설비가 지원됩니다.

제주시와 한국동서발전, 한국에너지재단이 20일 제주시청에서 '제주 하늘빛 나눔 태양광사업'에 따른 업무협약을 체결했습니다.

이번 협약으로 제주시는 복지 사각지대에 놓여 있는 시설이나 취약계층 주민을 발굴하고,

동서발전과 에너지재단은 태양광 발전 설비와 필요한 사업비를 지원하게 됩니다.
