5. Domestic tourists consider Southeast Asia over Jeju Island for winter vacations
Travel trend based on bank card expenses


It is reported that the demand for winter tourism in Jeju is falling behind Japan and Southeast Asian countries.

According to the research conducted by the Jeju Tourism Organization on the nationwide sale report of (신한)Shinhan Cards, the domestic tourists using cards in Jeju for year-end holidays decreased whereas the card usage overseas in Japan and Southeast Asia increased.

However, young people in their 20s and 30s spent more money in Jeju rather than overseas.

겨울철 제주 관광이 일본과 동남아시아 관광에 밀리고 있는 것으로 조사됐습니다.

제주관광공사가 지난해 신한카드 전국 매출자료를 분석한 결과에 따르면

12월과 1월, 연말연시 제주에서 카드를 이용하는 내국인 관광객 비율은 감소하는 반면, 일본과 동남아시아 등 해외에서의 카드 사용 비율은 증가했습니다.

다만, 20~30대 젊은 층은 해외보다 제주에서 소비하는 비율이 더 높은 것으로 집계됐습니다.
