Vice governor says they will be complete 3 years ahead of original schedule

The province will supply 10,000 public rental housing units by 2022.

During a major project briefing Wednesday at the Provincial Office, Administrative Vice Governor Jeon Seong-tae said the total will include 5,000 units for young adults, 4,000 for low income islanders, and 1,000 units that will be purchased to rent out. They will be available three years earlier than the previous target of 2025.

Jeon also said that the province will secure substitute land and build 700 subsidized residential units to replace those that were canceled for the Citizen Welfare Town.

The vice governor also said that a new landfill will partially open in January at the (동복리) Dongbok-ri Environment Resources Recycling Center.

1만 세대를 당초 2025년에서 2022년까지로 3년 앞당겨 공급하겠다고 밝혔습니다.

백지화된 시민복지타운 행복주택 7백 세대도 대체 부지를 확보해 공급하겠다고 강조했습니다.

이 밖에도 동복리 환경자원순환센터는 내년 1월부터 일부 매립장 운영을 시작하겠다고 덧붙였습니다.
