2. Authorities accept 6,700+ April Third Incident claims
Assessment of claims to be completed by March of 2019

Officials accepted the claims of over 6,700 people in 2018 who say they or their relatives were victims of the April 3rd Incident.

The April Third Incident Working Committee convened for a sixth and final time this year to assess the claims. It reviewed 32 claims saying they were victims and 1,277 claims saying they were a family member.


Around 1,800 submitted claims in 2018, the Working Committee has accepted 6,711 claims, including 185 victims and 6,526 family members.

The Working Committee will complete an assessment of claims submitted by the end of December in March of 2019.


4·3 희생자·유족 6천711명 추가 인정

올 들어 지금까지 4.3 희생자와 유족으로 추가 인정된 도민이 6천 700명을 넘어섰습니다.

제주4.3사건 진상규명과 희생자 명예회복 실무위원회는 올해 마지막인 6차 심사를 통해 희생자 32명과 유족 1천 277명을 심의 의결했습니다.

올해 1월부터 시작된 희생자와 유족 추가 접수에는 1만 8천여 명이 신청했으며
이 가운데 희생자 185명, 유족 6천 526명 등 모두 6천 711명이 최종 의결됐습니다.

4.3실무위는 오는 31일까지 추가 접수되는 희생자와 유족들에 대해 내년 3월 심의를 완료할 예정입니다.
