Domestic arrivals down 3.1% in first drop since 2010

Fewer tourists visited Jeju last year, compared to the previous year.

According to the Jeju Provincial Tourism Association, about 14.3 million people came to the island in 2018. That’s 2.9 percent off the 2017 total of roughly 14.8 million.

The island hosted about 13 million domestic tourists last year?3.1 percent fewer than in 2017. That’s the first decrease in that metric since 2010.


제주 관광객 1천 433만명…전년보다 줄어

지난해 제주를 방문한 관광객이 전년보다 줄어든 것으로 나타났습니다.

제주도관광협회에 따르면 지난 한해동안 제주를 찾은 관광객은 1천 433만 여명으로 잠정 집계됐습니다.

이같은 관광객수는 2017년의 1천 475만명에 비해 2.9% 줄어든 것입니다.

이 가운데 내국인 관광객은 1천 310만명으로 전년보다 3.1% 줄어 2010년 이후 첫 감소세로 전환되기도 했습니다.
