Prosecutors will not appeal Jeju District Court’s recent decision to dismiss indictments against some of the people convicted of various offenses during the April 3rd Incident.

Jeju District Prosecutors' Office representatives say the office agrees with the court’s decision in retrials of the cases that ended last week.

The prosecution’s decision not to appeal means the court’s ruling will stand, clearing the names of the 18 people who filed for the retrials in cases that date back seven decades.


4·3 수형인 공소기각 '확정'…검찰 '항소포기'

법원의 4.3 수형인에 대한 공소기각 결정과 관련해 검찰이 항소하지 않기로 했습니다.

제주지방검찰청은 4.3 수형인 재심 재판에서 검찰 구형과 동일한 공소기각 판결을 내린 만큼 이같이 결정했다고 밝혔습니다.

검찰의 항소 포기로 공소기각이라는 법원의 판결이 확정되며 4.3 수형인들은 70년 만에 억울한 누명을 벗게됐습니다.
