Authorities monitoring prices of 40 products

Jeju City authorities have enacted plans designed to stabilize the prices of holiday items in the lead-up to the Lunar New Year.

Officials have declared a special period to monitor prices and supply and demand for 40 items in 6 categories.

Authorities will focus inspections on traditional markets and large retailers. They will ensure that products have proper origin and price labels, and that merchants are weighing their products correctly.

The city will also run a campaign with municipal departments, merchants associations, and local organizations to encourage people to do their holiday shopping at traditional markets and local retailers.

제주시가 설 명절을 앞두고 물가안정관리 특별대책기간을 운영합니다.

특히 설 명절을 앞두고 전통시장과 대형마트 등을 대상으로 원산지 허위표시와 가격표시제 이행여부, 불법계량행위를 중점 단속합니다.

이와 함께 각 부서와 상인회, 자생단체를 중심으로 전통시장.골목상권 이용하기 캠페인을 전개할 계획입니다.
