1. Measles vaccinations ‘required’
No cases in Jeju yet as outbreak spreads on mainland

Following the confirmation of dozens of measles cases in Korea, Jeju health authorities are ramping up efforts to prevent a local outbreak.

They say that there has yet to be a confirmed case on the island, but that the disease is spreading rapidly in the Daegu area. In order to keep Jeju free from the outbreak, medical authorities are urging everyone here to get their vaccinations and to maintain a high level of personal hygiene.

They want people to ensure that they received the required two shots for the vaccination and that they report to medical authorities any suspicious measles-like symptoms, such as a rash accompanied by a fever.

전국 홍역 유행…예방접종 받아야

전국에서 홍역 확진 사례가 잇따르면서 제주보건당국도 예방활동 강화에 나섰습니다.

제주도 보건당국은 아직까지 제주에서 홍역 확진 환자는 발생하지 않앗지만 대구 지역을 중심으로 환자가 속출하는 만큼 예방접종과 개인 위생 수칙 준수 등을 당부했습니다.

특히 홍역 예방 백신을 두차례 모두 접종했는지 확인하고 발열을 동반한 발진 등
의심 증상이 나타날 경우 보건소로 신고할 것을 강조했습니다.
