Proponents say road would cut airport travel time

The national government will fund a preliminary feasibility study into the construction of a bypass on the Pyeonghwa-ro.

Provincial officials say the Ministry of Economy and Finance has chosen the building of a (광령) Gwangryeong-Dopyeong connector to be on the list of projects that qualify for a feasibility study.

If the road is deemed feasible and then selected as a government-funded project, analysts say its construction would cut the travel time for people going to and from the airport. Another benefit, they say, would be less traffic congestion in western Jeju City.
