1. Emergency measures when fine dust concentrations climb
New system implemented earlier than planned

National authorities will implement emergency fine dust reduction measures in Jeju when the air quality is particularly bad.

The Ministry of Environment has decided to implement the measures in Jeju, just like it does in other regions, when the dust levels hit a certain level. The system is in effect early?the ministry had planned to implement it February 15th.

The emergency measures are instituted when the fine dust concentration surpasses 50 micrograms per cubic meter and a similar level is forecast for the following day.

The measures include limiting the use of vehicles by public organization employees, adjusting the work hours at construction sites, and expanding the operations of cleaning vehicles.

제주서도 미세먼지 '비상저감조치' 시행

앞으로 미세먼지 농도가 나쁠 경우 제주에서도 비상저감조치가 시행됩니다.

환경부는 다음달 15일로 예정된 미세먼지 저감 특별법 시행 이전이라도 제주에서 고농도 미세먼지가 발생하면 다른 시.도와 마찬가지로 비상저감조치를 시행하도록 했습니다.

미세먼지 농도가 50 마이크로그램을 초과하고 다음날에도 비슷한 수준으로 예보되면

공공기관 차량 2부제와 공사장 가동시간 조정, 청소차 운영 확대 같은 비상저감조치를 시행할 수 있습니다.
