5. ￦235,000 needed for ancestral rites this year
Slightly more than last Lunar New Year

It will cost nearly 235,000 won to buy all of the items needed to hold ancestral rites for the Lunar New Year.

The Jeju Chamber of Commerce and Industry surveyed prices at traditional markets in Jeju City on January 22nd and 23rd. It’s estimate for a four-person family this year is 1,330 won higher than last year.

The heat wave and drought last year pushed fruit prices up about 9.3 percent.

On the whole, costs were down for the other items, like vegetables and meat.

설 명절 차례상 비용 23만 5천원

올해 제주지역 설 차례상 비용은 4인 가족 기준으로 23만 5천 원 수준으로 조사됐습니다.

이는 제주상공회의소가 지난 22일부터 이틀동안 제주시내 재래시장을 방문해 조사한 것으로 지난해보다 1천330원 올랐습니다.

특히 과일의 경우 지난해 폭염과 가뭄 등의 영향으로 9.3% 올랐습니다.

나물채소류나 육류 등 나머지 품목은 전체적으로 하락한 것으로 조사됐습니다.
