4. All elderly residents will soon qualify for free taxi rides
Program currently limited to rural residents

All of the island’s oldest residents will soon be able to enjoy free taxi rides everywhere in Jeju.

The free rides are currently limited to residents of more rural “eup” and “myeon” administrative districts. The program will expand to include urban “dong” administrative districts in February.

All residents of those districts who are at least 70 years old will then become a beneficiary of the program. One person is allowed 24 rides per year, and one ride must be no more than 7,000 won.

This service is becoming increasingly popular?it was used over 28,200 times just last month.


어르신 행복택시 도 전역으로 확대

다음달부터 어르신 행복택시가 도내 전역으로 확대됩니다.

제주도는 읍면지역에서만 시행하고 있는 어르신 대상 공공형 행복택시 사업을 다음달부터 동지역까지 확대 운영한다고 밝혔습니다.

이에따라 동지역에 거주하는 만 70살 이상 어르신도 한번에 최대 7천원까지 연간 24번 택시를 무료로 이용할 수 있습니다.

행복택시 이용자는 지난달 2만8천200여 건에 이르는 등 꾸준히 늘고 있습니다.
