1. ‘Criminal records must be completely deleted’
Committee urges action for people cleared of April 3rd Incident offenses

The provincial council’s April 3rd Special Committee recently met with the commissioner of provincial police and asked him to completely delete the criminal records of people convicted of offenses during the April 3rd Incident.

Committee members argued that the police need to offer even a little more relief to the people cleared of wrongdoing by the court by promptly destroying the records and deleting any information related to their investigations. They also say the police must then inform the people with those records that they have been deleted.

The commissioner said he would perform those tasks as soon as possible by sending all materials related to the cases, including the court rulings, to national police headquarters.

도의회 4·3특위, "수형인 범죄기록 삭제" 요청

제주도의회 4.3 특별위원회가 제주지방경찰청장과의 간담회에서 4.3 수형인들의 범죄기록을 삭제해달라고 요구했습니다.

특위는 법원의 공소기각 판결로 무죄를 받은 분들의 고초를 조금이나마 덜어드리기 위해서라도 경찰은 수사자료표 등 범죄관련 내용을 즉시 삭제하고 결과를 당사자들에게 통보해야 한다고 강조했습니다.

이에 대해 경찰은 본청에 판결문 등 관련 자료를 보내 최대한 빨리 조치하겠다고
답했습니다.
