4. ‘Don’t use disposable plastic bags’
Seogwipo, Saemaeul Women’s Society launch campaign

The city of Seogwipo has teamed up with the (새마을) Saemaeul Women’s Society for a campaign to dissuade people from using disposable plastic bags.

The use of the bags was banned beginning January first. This campaign is designed to inform people about the new rule and encourage them to follow it.

There is a grace period through the end of March, during which time Seogwipo is working to make sure everyone is aware of the ban. Beginning in April, the city will fine or otherwise punish stores that use disposable plastic bags.

1회용 봉투 안쓰기 캠페인

서귀포시와 새마을부녀회가 민관 합동으로 29일 대형마트 출입구에서 일회용 비닐봉투 안쓰기 캠페인을 전개했습니다.

이번 캠페인은 1월부터 일회용 비닐봉투 사용이 금지됨에 따라 시민들에게 관련 내용을 홍보하고 동참해줄 것을 당부하기 위해 마련됐습니다.

서귀포시는 3월까지는 계도 기간인 만큼 홍보 활동을 전개하고 4월부터는 일회용 비닐봉투 사용 업체에 대해 과태료 부과 같은 행정 조치에 나설 계획입니다.
