2. First case of measles in Jeju
34-year-old woman tests positive

A measles outbreak on the mainland has spread to dozens of people, and now Jeju has its first confirmed case.

The Jeju City Seobu Public Health Center says a 34-year-old woman, who had traveled to Vietnam, has tested positive for measles. She came down with a cough and a runny nose on January 15th, and then a rash on the 28th.

Health authorities are now monitoring the woman’s friends and relatives who traveled with her.

41 people across the country have tested positive for measles this winter.

제주 첫 홍역 환자 발생, 보건당국 역학조사

전국적으로 홍역이 확산되고 있는 가운데 제주에서도 첫 홍역환자가 발생하며 보건당국에 비상이 걸렷습니다.

제주시 서부보건소는 지난 달 초 베트남을 여행했던 34살 여성 A씨가 1월 15일 기침과 콧물 증상에 이어 28일 발진 증상을 보여 병원을 찾은 결과 홍역 양성 판정을 받았다고 밝혔습니다.

보건당국은 A씨와 함께 여행했던 가족과 친구 등을 상대로 역학조사를 벌이고 있습니다.

한편 올 겨울들어 전국적으로 모두 41명이 홍역 확진 판정을 받았습니다.
