2. ‘Ban for-profit hospitals from serving Korean nationals’
National Assembly member’s proposal would fine or imprison violators

A National Assembly members wants to ban Korean nationals from getting medical treatment at foreign-run for-profit hospitals in the country.

Health and Welfare Committee member Kim Gwang-su’s proposal bars the founders and the medical staff of the hospitals from offering treatment to anyone with Korean citizenship.

Violators would face up to 5 years behind bars or a fine of up to 50 million won.

'영리병원, 내국인 진료 금지' 개정안 발의

국회 보건복지위원회 김광수 의원이 외국의료기관에서 내국인 의료행위를 금지하는 내용의 제주특별법 일부개정법률안을 대표 발의했습니다.

개정안은 외국의료기관 개설자 또는 종사하는 의료인은 내국인을 대상으로 의료행위를 할 수 없다는 내용과 함께

이를 위반할 경우 5년 이하 징역 또는 5천만 원 이하 벌금에 처하도록 했습니다.
