‘Shingugan’ moving season not enough to boost sales

Relatively few homes were sold on the island last month, even though the traditional “Shingugan” moving period was in January this year.

The land ministry says there were 790 housing transactions in Jeju last month. That’s 10.7 percent fewer than the year before.

Compared to the average over the past five years, it represents a massive drop of 36.6 percent.

The rental market was also weak--the number of contracts signed fell 7.4 percent to about 13-hundred. Analysts say that’s another sign of the waning influence of “Shingugan” on the real estate market.

전통 이사철인 신구간이었던 지난달 제주지역 주택 거래는 오히려 크게 줄어든 것으로 나타났습니다.

국토교통부가 발표한 주택 매매거래량 집계 자료에 따르면 지난달 제주지역 거래량은 790여 건으로 지난해 같은 기간보다 10.7% 감소했습니다.

이 같은 수치는 최근 5년 평균 거래량과 비교했을 때 36.6% 줄어든 것입니다.

지난달 전월세 거래량도 1천 3백여 건으로 지난해보다 7.4% 줄어 신구간 부동산 특수가 점차 줄어드는 것으로 분석되고 있습니다.
