5. Seogwipo plans ‘Innovation Complex’ in Jeju Innocity

The city of Seogwipo is planning to build what it’s calling an “Innovation Complex” within the Jeju Innovation City.

The city has decided to purchase the 11,000-square-meter plot of land in the Innocity that is designated for cultural facilities. It is now accepting bids for the architectural design for the project.

Officials say they want the initial and working designs as well as construction approval for the project completed by the end of the year. Work would then begin next year, with construction slated for completion by the end of 2021.

The 29-billion-won Innovation Complex will house a public daycare center, a swimming pool, a so-called “book hub center,” culture and hobby lessons, and a development foundation.

제주혁신도시 '복합혁신센터' 건립사업이 추진되고 있습니다.

서귀포시는 혁신도시 내 문화시설용지 1만 1천 제곱미터를 매입해 복합혁신센터를 짓기로 하고 이에 따른 건축설계를 공모하고 있습니다.

건축설계에 이어 올해 중에 기본과 실시설계, 건축 인허가를 마무리하고 내년부터 공사에 들어가 2021년 완공을 목표로 추진됩니다.

복합혁신센터는 사업비 290억원을 투입해 공립어린이집과 수영장, 북허브센터, 문화.취미교실, 발전재단 등을 운영하게 됩니다.
