5. Fishery production up 21% in Q4
Yellowtail catch more than doubles

Jeju fishermen are hauling in far larger catches, especially hairtails and yellowtails.

The Honam Regional Statistics Office says fishery production hit 26,500 tons in Jeju in the fourth quarter of last year. That’s 21 percent higher than the corresponding total from the year before.

The yellowtail catch was up a massive 154 percent. Hairtail was a distant second at 35 percent, and then the yellow corvina catch grew by 4 percent.

갈치와 방어를 중심으로 제주 어업생산량이 크게 증가하고 있습니다.

호남지방통계청에 따르면 지난해 4분기 제주도 어업생산량은 2만 6천 500톤으로
지난해 같은 기간보다 21% 증가했습니다.

이 가운데 방어는 154% 증가해 가장 큰 증가폭을 보였고 다음이 갈치로 35%, 이어 참조기 4% 순을 보였습니다.
