Follow-up measures to be taken

The provincial council has passed a proposal to direct the mayoral election system. Governor Won Hee-ryong has held a meeting to review the follow-up measures.

The Governor has stated that he will reach agreements with the local council on administrative and legal procedures. The decision will be made on whether to hold a referendum. The governor has also asked the Jeju support committee to submit an amendment to the relevant law.

The Central Administrative Agency will be notified if the committee accepts the suggestion of the council, and the agency will take the proper measures to conduct a feasibility study. The study must be completed within 2 months, and the result must be delivered to the committee within seven days upon the completion of the study.

후속 조치를 준비하도록 관련부서에 지시했습니다.

행정이나 법적 절차를 비롯해
주민투표 실시 여부 등은
의회와 빠른 시일내에 협의할 것이며
제주특별자치도 제주지원위원회에
관련 법률개정안 제출을 주문했습니다.

제주지원위원회는
제주도로부터 관련 의견을 접수하게 되면
관련 중앙행정기관에 통보하고
해당 기관장은
2개월 내에 타당성을 검토한 후
7일 이내에 결과를 지원위원회에 회신해야 합니다.
