Provincial government cracks down on pollution
324 businesses to be investigated for fine dust emission

The provincial government has announced plans to audit businesses with high levels of fine dust particles by May of this year.

The government will overview a total of 324 businesses. The list includes constructions sites and asphalt and concrete factories.

The investigation will survey proper anti-vibration system installation, fugitive dust control measures, and the use of illegal fuels.

Administrative action will be taken on all businesses found to be in violation of the laws. The government plans to subsidize the replacement costs for pollution control facilities.

A total of 407 businesses were audited in 2018, with 49 businesses found to be in violation. Of the 49, 11 were formally charged.

제주시가 미세먼지를 다량 배출하는 사업장을
오는 5월까지 특별 점검합니다.

이번 점검에서는
공사장과 아스콘, 레미콘 공장 등 324곳을 대상으로

방진막과 방진벽이 적정하게 설치됐는지를 비롯해
비산먼지 발생 억제시설의 운영 여부와
불법연료 사용 여부 등을 점검하게 됩니다.

제주시는 위반 사업장에 대해서는
고발조치 등 행정 처분하고
오염물질 방지시설에 대한 교체비용을 지원할 계획입니다.

한편 지난해에는 사업장 407곳을 점검해
위반 사업장 49곳을 적발했으며
이 가운데 사안이 중대한 11곳을 고발조치했습니다.
