3. Local farmers request support for maritime logistics costs

The Jeju Farmer’s Association Council, along with seven other farmer’s groups, made demands at the budget policy meeting for the Democratic Party of Korea to offer national support for maritime logistics costs, a pledge initially made by President Moon Jae-In.

They claimed the growing burden of distribution costs for farmers is due in part to the drop in price of winter crops.
The groups are urging the party to establish a budget for the logistic costs for next year.

Meanwhile, protesters opposing the second airport on the island conducted a picket demonstration at the meeting. They demanded the suspension of establishing basic plans for the new airport and the acceptance of the resolution passed in the provincial council.

당 지도부에 해상물류비 국비지원을 촉구했습니다.

이들은 월동채소 가격이 폭락한 상황에서
농가 물류비 부담이 커지고 있다며
대통령 공약인 해상물류비를 내년도
국비에 편성해 줄 것을 요청했습니다.

제2공항 반대시위자들도
간담회장에서 피켓시위를 하며
2공항 기본계획 용역 중단과
도의회에서 가결한 결의안 수용을 요구했습니다.
