4. Residents call for expedited development of 2nd airport
Council makes official request to Governor

The Seongsaneup development council comprising of 120 members held a meeting with Governor Won Hee-ryong Thursday. The group has made an official request to expedite the development of the second airport.

The council said that the proposal for the second airport requested by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, should proceed as planned. They also called for the opinions of residents to be reflected in the plan to develop the area.

서귀포시 성산읍 지역 35개 자생단체장을 비롯한
회원 120여명으로 구성된 성산읍발전협의회가
7일 오후 원희룡 지사와 간담회를 갖고
제주 제2공항의 조속한 추진을 공식 요청했습니다.

이 자리에서 협의회는 또
현재 국토부의 기본계획 용역을 당초 계획대로 진행돼야 하며
이와는 별도로 시행중인 주변지역 상생발전 계획에
주민들의 의견이
반드시 반영될 수 있도록 해야 한다고 강조했습니다.
