3. Land Ministry to design basic plan for new airport in Jeju
Current airport undergoing renovations

The basic plan for the second airport on the island is expected to be announced by the end of the year.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport announced through its work plan that it will complete the basic plan by June and will officially reveal it by the end of the year.

Working designs for the new airport will begin after the reveal starting late this year or early next year.

The current Jeju International Airport is also undergoing a short-term infrastructure improvement project. When it is completed in June, the capacity for travelers is expected to grow from 25 million to 31 million commuters.

올해 안에 고시될 전망입니다.

국토교통부는
업무계획을 통해
2공항 기본계획을
6월까지 마무리하고
연내 고시할 계획이라고
밝혔습니다.

이후 올해 말이나
내년 초 2공항 실시설계에
들어갈 예정입니다.

이와 별도로
오는 6월 현 제주국제공항 단기 인프라 시설 개선사업이 완료되면
제주공항 연간 수용인원은
2천 5백만 명에서 3천 1백만 명으로
늘어납니다.
