3. License transfers made easier for private taxis
Prerequisite driving experience shortened by 6 months to 1 year

Transfer qualifications for privately owned taxis have been alleviated by the provincial government. The province has made a formal announcement on March 20th for the revised rules of private taxi license processing.

The amendment has shortened the prerequisite length of driving experience with a clean record from 4 years to 3.5 years for taxis that have been purchased or inherited.
The prerequisite for operating a taxi service with personally owned vehicles has also dropped to seven years, shaving off one year.

The revision was made by taking into consideration the opinions of related industries, as well as the guidelines of other cities, to create fairness.

개인택시 면허사무 처리 규칙 개정안을
20일자로 공포한다고 밝혔습니다.

주요내용을 보면
개인택시 면허 양수나 상속자의 무사고 운전경력이
사업용 자동차의 경우
4년에서 3년 6개월로 단축됐습니다.

또 다른사람에게 고용돼 운행한 자가용 자동차는
8년에서 7년으로 완화됐습니다.

제주도는 관련업계의 의견과 다른 시도와의 형평성 등을 고려해
이같이 결정했다고 밝혔습니다.
