4. Solar energy proves to be consistently high in demand
Over 300 solar power plants installed since 2016

Development permits for the establishment of solar power plants are showing a consistent increase.

According to the Seogwipo municipal office, over 900 requests have been approved since 2016. These requests cover an area of 1.87 million square meters of land.

Solar power facilities have the highest number of approval rates at 35%, followed by permits for burial grounds at 21%. Development permits for buildings came in third at 8%.

Solar power installations grew from 22 approvals in 2016 to 255 last year. Nearly half of the installations are located in Seong-san eup and Pyoseon myeon.

서귀포시에 따르면
지난 2016년부터 지난해까지 3년 동안 허가된 개발행위는
900여 건으로
면적으로는 187만 제곱미터에 이르고 있습니다.

이 가운데 태양광이 319건, 35%로 가장 많고
묘지 조성 21%,
공작물 8% 등이 뒤를 이었습니다.

특히 태양광시설은
2016년 22건에서 지난해 255건으로 해마다 늘었고
성산읍과 표선면지역이
전체의 절반 가까이 차지하고 있습니다.
