1. April 3rd becomes official public holiday
Working holiday to only apply to civil, public servants

The provincial government has formally announced an ordinance designating April 3rd as a regional public holiday starting this year.

The holiday will only apply to civil servants and public sector employees.

The April 3rd public holiday will be a day of tribute to the victims of the incident, and the Jeju government requests that all residents of Jeju be in remembrance of those who were affected.

올해부터 4월 3일이 지방공휴일로 지정됐습니다.

제주특별자치도는
4.3 희생자 추념일 지방공휴일
지정에 관한 조례가 공포되면서
매년 4월 3일을 지방공휴일로
운영한다고 밝혔습니다.

지방공휴일 적용 대상은
제주도 소속 공무원과 공기업 직원 등으로
제한됩니다.

제주도는
4.3 희생자를 추념하고
화해와 상생의 의미를 되새기고자
4월 3일을 지방공휴일로 지정했다며
민간에서도 추모 분위기에
동참해달라고 당부했습니다.
