Dignitaries, family members, public pay their respects
An annual ceremony commemorating the victims of the Jeju April 3rd Incident was held on Wednesday at the Jeju April 3rd Peace Park.
Dignitaries from many branches of government were in attendance, including Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon and Jeju Governor Won Hee-ryong. They offered flowers and burned incense in memory of the victims of the incident.
Prime Minister Lee offered condolences for those who lost their lives and gave words of consolation to the relatives of the victims. He said that the government would do its best to exhume the bodies of the victims -- adding that reveal the facts of the incident and restoring the reputations of the victims and their families would be a priority.
The head of the victims committee, Song Seung-mun (송승문) -- addressing the government and National Assembly -- stated that revision of the April 3rd Special Law needs to be passed as soon as possible. He pointed out that Seoul had made the April 3rd Incident part of the national agenda and victims have been anticipating the passing of the revised bill.

8만여 유족이 간절히 바라는
4.3 특별법 개정안의 조속한 처리를
촉구했습니다.
