2. Jeju Olle opposes Songaksan New Ocean Town project

The Jeju Olle Corporation is opposing the construction project of New Ocean Town in the Songaksan mountain area.

Jeju Olle released a statement on Thursday, bringing attention to damages that may occur to the surrounding environment and scenery of Jeju Olle trail No.10. The corporation plans to organize a campaign to gather signatures from Olle trail hikers.

Jeju Olle is apprehensive of another massive development project taking place. It pointed out that the sewage system of (대정읍)Daejeong-eup is already operating near its maximum level from waste flowing from the Jeju Myths and History Theme Park and Jeju Global Education City. It said that an additional influx of people will cause marine pollution and problems treating excess sewage.

또 이미 신화역사공원과 영어교육도시 등으로
대정읍 하수 용량이 포화상태인데
대규모 개발사업이 더 이뤄질 경우
하수 처리난과 해양오염이 발생할 것이라고 우려했습니다.
