4. Local tap water safe to drink
Waterworks finds no harmful substances during monitoring

The Provincial Office of Waterworks examined the local tap water and found that the water is “suitable” for drinking.

Officials performed inspections on 20 local purification plants and water supply facilities. The office did not find any harmful substances such as heavy metals or pesticides, concluding that the local water is safe for drinking.

The local government plans to expand the monitoring checklist from 60 to 140 substances to enhance the safety of local tap water.

지난달 도내 정수장과 마을상수도 20개소에서
수돗물 수질을 검사한 결과
중금속과 농약 등 60개 항목에서
유해물질이 전혀 검출되지 않아
안전한 것으로 나타났습니다.

제주도는 앞으로 수질 정기검사 항목을
140개 항목으로 확대해
수질 신뢰도륵 향상시켜나갈 계획입니다.
