Researchers conclude original plan is ‘most optimal’

The interim presentation on the basic plan of Jeju’s new airport was held at Seongsan Gymnasium on the 24th. It was organized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport.

Researchers involved in the project reevaluated that the flight demands of the new airport will increase up to 41 million passengers by 2055.

They concluded that the originally planned location for the runway is the “most optimal choice” out of the 6 alternatives. The analysis took various factors into consideration such as noise, environmental impact and migration of local residents that may be caused by the construction project.

A group of people picketed, sparking arguments with the many advocates that participated at the event.

열렸습니다.

용역진은
항공수요 재예측 결과
2055년이면 이용자가 4천 1백만명까지
늘어날 것으로 예상했습니다.

항공기 활주로 위치는
소음과 이주 가구, 환경성 요인 등을 고려했을때
검토안 6개 가운데 당초 제시됐던
원 안이 가장 적합하다고 결론내렸습니다.

이번 중간보고회는
찬성측 주민들이 다수 참석한 가운데
일부 반대주민들이 피켓을 들고
항의하면서 언쟁이 오갔습니다.
