Contractors constructing the Jeju Healthcare Town have applied for provisional seizure of the Greenland International’s assets and filed a lawsuit requesting the payment.
With the provincial government announcement to revoke the license of the Greenland International Hospital, we are expecting a prolonged suspension of the healthcare town construction project.

A number of major domestic building contractors took part in the construction of the Jeju Healthcare Town.

However, in 2017 when Greenland International failed to pay for work done on the hotels and commercial buildings in the town, these contractors suspended construction.

Some contractors have since vacated the construction site and applied for the provisional seizure of assets from Greenland International.
This ongoing legal process began in October 2017 and in the case of three contractors exceeds a total of 120 billion won.
Because the developer failed for over a year to pay for work on the project, at the end of 2018 the contractors filed a lawsuit against Greenland International to request payment.

Meanwhile, three local companies involved in the construction of the town have failed to receive some 2.1 billion won in payments. They have also applied for the provisional seizure of assets from Greenland International. The developer has only paid half of the uncollected amount.

Greenland International has filed its own lawsuit against the province seeking compensation. Some say this is due to ongoing litigation regarding the provisional seizures.
