Government subsidizes all applicants regardless of household income

All children under age 6 qualify for a monthly grant of 100 thousand won as part of the national government’s child care support scheme. Funds have been disbursed to registered children from April 25.

Children received their first grant of 400 thousand won this month, backdating three missed payments from the start of the year.

The local government is offering 4 billion won to some 34,000 children this month.

The revision bill of the Child Allowance Law expanded beneficiaries to all children of under age 6 regardless of household income. Beneficiaries will be further extended to all children under age 7 from this September.

매월 10만원의 아동수당을 지급하고 있습니다.

특히 이번에 처음 수당을 받게 되는 아동은
지난 1월부터 3월까지 석달치를 소급적용 받아 40만원을 받게 됩니다.

제주도는
이달에만 3만 4천여명의 아동에게
41억 4천 300만원의 수당을 지급하고 있습니다.

아동수당은
오는 9월부터 만 7살 미만으로 확대될 예정입니다.
