Future of Korea’s first for-profit hospital unclear

In related news, Governor Won Hee-ryong responded to a question on Greenland Group’s announcement at the provincial pressroom on the 29th saying that Greenland’s withdrawal from the business was “predictable”. He added that the government will find ways to normalize the Healthcare Town Project.

The governor stated that the cancellation was “inevitable” as the group failed to make sufficient efforts to open the hospital or to negotiate terms with the provincial government. He also said that the hospital may be auctioned off after June due to unpaid construction bills.

Won emphasized that the local government will address any pending lawsuits and continue discussions with JDC and developers to normalize the operation of Korea’s first for-profit hospital.

도와 어떤 협의도 없었다며
이번 사업 포기는 예상된 수순이라고 말했습니다.

아울러
공사대금 미지급으로 6월 이후에는
병원이 경매로 넘어갈 수 있다고 덧붙였습니다.

원지사는 향후 소송에도 대응하면서
정부와 JDC, 사업자간 4자 협의를 통해
병원 정상화 방안을 마련하도록
노력하겠다고 강조했습니다.
