1. Jeju fines grade-5 diesel vehicles drivers
Authorities implement measures to reduce fine dust emission

The provincial government will impose fines of 100 thousand won to Grade-5 diesel vehicle drivers from the second half of this year.

This measure follows an ordinance regarding the reduction and management of fine dust levels in Jeju.

There are 55 thousand grade-5 diesel vehicles, which is 22 percent out of 240 thousand diesel vehicles in the island.

The local government has continued its efforts to reduce fine dust emissions by replacing 2,700 grade-5 diesel vehicles last year.

Authorities requested a budget of 1 billion won from Seoul to implement fines and expand CCTV installments.

하반기부터 5등급 경유차 운행 과태료 10만원

제주특별자치도가 올 하반기부터
5등급 경유차량 운행에 대해 과태료 10만원을 부과합니다.

이같은 조치는
최근 미세먼지 저감 조례 통과에 따른 것입니다.

현재 제주도내 경유차량은 24만여대로
이 가운데
22%인 5만 5천여대가 5등급입니다.

제주도는 지난해 5등급 차량 2천 700대를 교체한 바 있습니다.

한편 제주도는 과태료 부과와 CCTV 장비 확충을 위해
정부에 10억원의 예산지원을 요청했습니다.
