2. Local government accelerates EV Special Zone project
Public hearing on green transportation proposal to submit to Seoul

Local officials held a public hearing at the hall for farmers and fisherman to draft a proposal on creating Jeju as the Electric Vehicle Special Zone. This hearing followed after the national government’s decision to prioritize discussions with Jeju as its prime candidate for the special zone on the April 16th.

Participants focused on discussing plans to grow the electric vehicle and related industries and expand infrastructure at the public hearing.

The local government will finalize the plan and submit it to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups by May.

The ministry will make decisions during July.

The province picked five locations to create the five-square kilometer special zone. Candidates are Jeju Science Park 1 and 2, the Jeju National University, Jeju Campus of Korea Polytechnics, Jeju International University and Seogwipo Innovative Cities.


전기차 특구 도민 공청회 5월 2일 개최

제주가
정부의 전기차 특구 우선협상대상으로 선정된 가운데
특구 계획안을 마련하기 위한 도민 공청회가
2일 농어업인회관에서 열렸습니다.

이번 공청회에서는
전기차 산업 육성방안과 전기차 인프라 확충 계획,
그리고 연관산업 활성화 대책 등이 주요하게 논의될 예정입니다.

제주도는 5월까지
전기차 규제자유특구 계획안을 확정해
중소벤처기업부에 제출할 예정이며
7월쯤 지정 여부가 결정됩니다.

제주도는
첨단과기단지와 제주대, 한국폴리텍대학 등 5곳에
5제곱킬로미터 규모의 특구 조성을 계획하고 있습니다.
