2. Shinhwa World Water Park reopens after wastewater backflow
New recirculation system can process 600 tons a day

Jeju Shinhwa World reopened its water park on the 3rd. The amusement park closed down after a mishap with its wastewater system occurred on the first day it opened.

Authorities of Shinhwa World said the water park is now equipped with a recirculation system that can process 600 tons of sewage a day.

The wastewater from the water park will be recycled only through the newly constructed recirculation system and will not go to the Daejeong(대정) sewage treatment plant.

Currently Shinwha World is under administrative investigation for being illegally granted favors regarding the sewage fee-charging system.

'하수 역류' 신화월드 워터파크 재개장

하수 역류로 논란이 일었던 신화월드 워터파크가
3일 다시 문을 열었습니다.

신화월드는
하루 6백톤의 하수를 처리할 수 있는 중수도 시설을 마무리하고
3일 워터파크를 재개장한다고 밝혔습니다.

신화월드는
워터파크 하수를 중수로 재활용하면서
대정하수처리장으로 유입되는 하수는 없을 것이라고 설명했습니다.

한편 신화월드는
하수요금 부과체계 특혜의혹으로
현재 제주도의회 행정사무조사를 받고 있습니다.
