2017 system reforms boosted usage: Transport ministry

Local public bus traffic volume has shown the largest growth in the country.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the average daily traffic on local main roads was 11,455 units last year, a 0.9 percent increase from that of last year.

Bus traffic, in particular, rose by 8.9 percent from 438 units in 2017 to 477 units in 2018, marking the highest increase in the country.

The land ministry announced that the local government’s decision to reform the public bus traffic system in 2017 increased the volume of public buses commuting in the island.

제주도의 버스 교통량이 전국에서 가장 많이 증가한 것으로

지난해 제주도의 주요간선도로 1일 평균 교통량은
1만1천455대로 1년 전보다 0.9% 증가했습니다.

특히 버스 교통량은 지난해 477대로
2017년 438대에 비해 8.9% 늘어
전국에서 가장 높은 증가율을 기록했습니다.

버스 교통량 증가한 것은
대중교통 체계 개편에 따른 결과로 분석됐습니다.
