5. Local farm income drops for first time in 7 years
Total liability at its largest of 74 million won

The average income of farming households in the island has been on the decline.

According to last year’s economic survey of farmers and fishermen by Statistics Korea, the local average income was 48 million won, showing an 8.1 percent decrease from 52 million won in 2017.

The average income of farming households in particular, has dropped for the first time in 7 years.

Total liability of farming households is at its peak of 74 million won, a 14 percent increase from that of 2017.

제주 농가 평균소득 7년만에 감소

제주지역 농가의 평균소득이 감소세로 돌아섰습니다.

통계청의
지난해 농가와 어가의 경제조사결과에 따르면
제주지역의 평균소득은 4천800만원으로
처음으로 5천만원을 돌파했던
재작년의 5천 200만원에 비해 8.1% 줄었습니다.

특히 지난 2012년 이후
해마다 증가세를 보이던 농가소득이
7년만에 감소세로 돌아섰습니다.

농가부채는
사상 최대인 7천 400여만원으로
전년보다 14% 증가한 것으로 나타났습니다.
