2. Residents urge normalization of Jeju Global Education City
POE’s negative stance on ACS School spurs controversy

A committee of five villages including Boseong-ri and Anseong-ri in Daejeong-eup, Seogwipo City insisted that the Jeju Global Education City should be pushed ahead as initially planned.

The committee members held a press conference at the provincial council on May 21st and requested Education Superintendent Lee Seok-moon to clarify his stance on Anglo-Chinese School establishing a new campus on the island.

The group pointed out that the local education office's negative stance toward new international school establishments is hindering the progress of the large-scale project jointly promoted by government ministries and related agencies. The project has been invested large sums of capital from both public and private sectors.

부정적인 입장을 표명했다며

제주영어교육도시는
정부부처와 유관기관이 함께 추진하는 대규모 국책사업으로
막대한 예산과 민간 투자가 이뤄졌지만
추가 신설 학교에 대한
교육청의 부정적 입장 표명이 큰 걸림돌이 되고 있다고 지적했습니다.
