Hairtail catch plummets by 16%

Local fishermen are hauling in empty nets.

According to the Honam Regional Statistics Office, the first quarter catch was about 15,000 tons, 1.1 percent below the figure of the same period last year.

This is a 19.4 percent drop in total value of 129 billion won compared to that of last year.

제주지역 어업생산량이 줄고 있습니다.

호남지방통계청에 따르면
올해 1분기 제주지역 어업생산량은 1만5천톤으로
지난해 같은 기간보다 1.1% 감소했습니다.

특히 주요 품종인 갈치 어획량이
지난해보다 16% 줄며
전반적인 어업생산량 하락을 이끌고 있습니다.

이로 인해 어업생산금액은 1천 290억 원으로
전년보다 19.4% 줄었습니다.
