1. POE disapprove ACS establishment in JGEC
School lacks plans to operate Jeju Campus

The Provincial Office of Education finalized its decision to disapprove of establishing Anglo-Chinese School Singapore in the Jeju Global Education City.

Local education officials determined the plans for ACS to establish a campus in Jeju inadequate with only 2 out of 8 assessment items meeting the requirements. The school failed to have sufficient plans for recruiting students and financing the campus establishment.

ACS will decide whether or not to re-apply for establishing in Jeju Global Education City after an internal discussion with shareholders.

도교육청, ACS제주 국제학교 설립계획 '불승인'

제주영어교육도시 내 5번째로 추진중인 ACS제주 국제학교 설립계획이
최종 불승인됐습니다.

제주도교육청은 어제(27일) 국제학교설립운영심의위원회 심의 결과
ACS제주 국제학교 설립계획에 대해 부적합한 것으로 결정했다고 밝혔습니다.

심의 결과 설립 부적합 사유로는 국제학교 설립 신청 법인의
자격과 학생 모집계획, 학교 설립 소요 경비 조달 계획 등
심사 8개 항목 중 6개 항목이 모두 부적합하다는 의견을 보였습니다.

한편 신청 법인인 ACS제주측은 주주들과의 내부 협의를 거쳐
국제학교 재신청 여부를 결정할 예정입니다.
