1. Province appeals suspension of rental car quota system
Reducing rental vehicles deemed essential for traffic relief

The provincial government has decided to appeal against the local district court’s decision to accept petitions for preliminary injunction filed by conglomerate affiliated rental car companies attempting to thwart the rental car quota system.

The local government said it refuses to back down since it already revised related laws and gained authority to implement the rental car quota system. The government added that the cap system is essential to relieve traffic congestion in the island.

Officials stressed that active participation from rental car agencies and regulations to restrict the number of rental vehicles are imperative to successfully implement the system. The province will prepare for an appeal against the injunction and a forthcoming lawsuit.

이에 불복해 항고하기로 했습니다.

제주특별자치도는
렌터카 총량제 시행을 위해 관련법의 개정과 권한을 이양받은데다
도심 속 교통난 해결을 위한 정책으로 공공성이 강한 만큼
다시 법원의 판단을 받을 필요가 있어 이같이 결정했다고 밝혔습니다.

특히 어렵게 도입한 렌터카 총량제가 성공을 거두기 위해서는
자율감차와 함께
이에 따른 제재조치가 반드시 필요하다며
가처분 항고는 물론
본안소송에 대비해 설득논리를 다양하게 개발하겠다고 강조했습니다.
