4. Land ministry designates Jeju for drone surveillance system
Safety and environment monitoring services taps in July

Jeju Island and Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi-do province has been designated as demonstration cities for drone surveillance systems by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. A total of 1 billion won will be funded by Seoul for this project.

Surveillance drones will be put into action at the Jeju Olle trails and Jeju Global Education City for safety purposes. The devices will also monitor the local marine environment and pine wilt diseases. The service will officially start from July after a pilot testing in June.

국토교통부는
규제유예제도 사업자 공모 결과
제주도와 경기도 화성시를
드론 실증도시로 선정했다고 밝혔습니다.

이에따라 제주에서는
올레길과 영어교육도시 안심 서비스를 비롯해
해양 환경,
소나무재선충병 모니터링 같은 분야에 드론이 투입됩니다.

이 사업에는
국비 10억 원이 지원되며
다음달 한달동안 시범기간을 거친 뒤
7월부터 본격적으로 드론을 현장에 투입합니다.
