1. Jeju taxi fares to rise by 21%
Taxis departing airport and seaport surcharged 19:00-25:00

The local taxi fare is joining the nationwide taxi fare hike.

The provincial transport committee decided to increase the local taxi fare at its recent meeting.

The basic fare for mid-sized taxis will rise by 21% from 2,800 to 3,400 won. Jumbo and premium taxi fares will increase from 3,800 to 4,800 won.

Under the new plan, the meter will also clock up faster from 100 won per 144 meters to 132 meters.

The late-night surcharge time for taxis leaving from Jeju Airport and Jeju Port was set from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m.. The surcharge will be 2,100 won on top of the basic fare.

The local price commission will review the new system next month. The province will implement the new fare system as early as July after it passes the local price commission.

택시 요금 인상 추진…기본료 600원 인상

택시요금이 크게 오를 전망입니다.

제주특별자치도 교통위원회는 최근 회의를 갖고
택시운임 인상안을 의결했습니다.

주요내용을 보면
중형택시 기본요금은
현재 2천 800원에서 3천 400원으로,
대형택시는 3천 800원에서 4천 800원으로 인상했습니다.

또 100원씩 인상되는 거리를
현재 144미터에서 132미터로 줄였습니다.

특히 제주공항과 제주항에서의 할증운임시간을
오후 7시부터 새벽 1시까지로 정하고
이 시간에 타면
기본요금에 2천 100원을 추가 부담하도록 했습니다.
