3. Crackdown on speeding on Pyeonghwa-ro
Officers to levy vehicles driving over 80km/hr

Authorities are cracking down on speeding vehicles heading from Jeju City to Seogwipo on the Pyeonghwa-ro.

The Jeju Provincial Police Agency are ticketing violators from June.

Drivers will be timed on the 15 kilometer stretch of road from Gwangryeong 4 intersection to Donggwang intersection. Authorities will fine motorists whose average speed between those points is over 80 kilometers per hour and passes within 10 minutes.

The average speed of vehicles heading both south and north will be monitored.

평화로 제주시→서귀포시 방면 '구간단속'

제주시에서 서귀포시로 이어지는 평화로 구간에도
6월달부터 과속 구간단속이 실시됩니다.

제주지방경찰청은
과속 구간단속에 대한
시범운영 기간이 5월 말로 종료됨에 따라
6월달부터 단속에 들어간다고 밝혔습니다.

단속 지역은 애월읍 평화로 광령4교차로부터
서귀포시 안덕면 동광교차로 입구까지
약 15킬로미터 구간입니다.

이 구간에서 시작점과 종점의 통과속도,
그리고 평균속도는 시속 80킬로미터로 제한되며
특히 이 구간을 10분 이내로 통과할 경우
과태료가 부과됩니다.

이에따라 평화로는 양방향 모두
구간단속이 이뤄집니다.
