1. Province suspends Bijarim Road expansion project
Specialists to conduct survey for protected species

The provincial government has suspended expanding Bijarim Road since May 30th.

A team of environmental specialists will be formed by June 4th to examine the construction site for any protected species.

The Yeongsan River On-site Response Team officially requested the local government to suspend the expansion project and submit environmental preservation measures. This request followed claimed sightings of protected species near the construction site by a group opposing the expansion project.

30일자로 공사를 일시 중지했다고 밝혔습니다

이와함께 다음달 4일까지
전문가들로 정밀 조사반을 편성해
법정보호종 서식 여부를 조사하고
결과에 따라 보호조치를 취하기로 했습니다.

앞서 영산강유역환경청은
공사 구간에서 멸종위기종이 발견됐다는 반대단체의 주장에 따라
제주도에 공문을 보내
공사중단과 함께 환경보전 대책을 제출할 것을 요구했습니다.
