Some rental car agencies file lawsuit

Five large rental car companies have taken legal action against the provincial government to dismiss the rental car quota system. Some other local agencies are following suit.

A local rental car agency has filed a lawsuit and a preliminary injunction to the Jeju District Court on May 20th to revoke the rental car quota system, saying it is “unjust”

The company has opposed the cap system and refused to reduce the number of vehicles.

The system was scheduled to take effect on April 29th. However, it has been suspended after the court accepted preliminary injunctions from the five large rental car agencies.

제주도의 렌터카 운행제한 처분이 부당하다며
지난 20일 제주지방법원에
운행제한 공고처분 취소 소송과 함께
집행정지 가처분을 신청했습니다.

해당업체는
운행 제한에 반대하며
현재까지 자율 감차에 동참하지 않고 있습니다.

한편 렌터카 운행제한 조치는
지난달 29일 시행될 예정이었지만
법원에서 대기업의 가처분 신청을
받아들이면서 제동이 걸린 상태입니다.
