4. 4·3 symposium to be held at UN headquarters on June 20
30 human rights organizations from Korea and U.S. to participate

The April 3rd Peace Foundation will hold an international symposium under the theme of “The April 3rd Incident: Human Rights, Responsibility and Reconciliation” at the UN Headquarters in New York City on June 20th.

Participants including Peter Kang U-il, the bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Jeju, professor Bruce Cumings, a specialist in Korea and U.S. modern history and the bereaved families will discuss U.S. involvement in the tragic event.

The symposium is expected to help the world better know the incident and to unveil the truth of the April 3rd incident as 30 human rights organizations are participating from both Korea and U.S..
