Prosecutors focus on finding domestic distribution channel

A South African man in his 50s was caught smuggling a suitcase with 20 kilograms of cannabis into the island.

According to the Jeju Customs and local prosecutors office, the man was caught carrying cannabis when he arrived at Jeju Int’l Airport on June 2nd.

This is the largest seizure yet of the drug on Jeju, enough to dose 30,000 people.

The local customs office found the suitcase during security screening and sent it to the Jeju District Public Prosecutor’s Office. Prosecutors are focusing on finding the domestic distribution network.

제주공항으로 입국하면서 소지한 수하물 가운데
대마초 20kg이 담긴 여행가방이 적발됐습니다.

적발된 대마초는
3만명이 한꺼번에 흡입할 수 있는 양으로
역대 최대 규모로 알려졌습니다.

제주세관은
수하물을 검사하는 과정에서
여행용 가방의 대마초를 발견해 제주지검으로 송치했으며
검찰은 이 남성과 접촉하기로 한
국내 판매책을 찾는데 주력하고 있습니다.
